An alternative to standalone call intelligence: the recording where the deal lives

A call intelligence alternative worth considering is not a cheaper recorder; it is conversation intelligence that lives inside the system of record instead of beside it. EmpireOS records, transcribes and summarizes every call, extracts the objections and next steps, scores each rep against each skill from their own calls, and puts all of it on the deal, so the same recording that coaches the rep also feeds the deal score and the forecast, at one price with no second tool.

Standalone call intelligence products are good at what they do. They record the call, transcribe it, find the moments, and give a manager a place to coach from. The trouble is the word standalone. The insight lives in that product. The deal lives in the CRM. The forecast lives in a third place. And the person who connects the three is a rep, copying a summary into a notes field on a Friday afternoon, or not.

So the honest question when you evaluate an alternative is not "does it record calls as well?" It is "what happens to the call after it is recorded?" If the objections raised on Tuesday's call can change the deal's health score, show up in the pre-call brief for Thursday, and be visible to the manager on the forecast call, without anyone copying anything, then the recorder has become part of a system rather than a silo.

That is what EmpireOS does. Recordings and call review are part of Empire Command; the transcript is the evidence behind half of what Deal Intelligence shows; and none of it is a separate bill.

The call, on the deal. Transcript, summary, the objections raised and the next steps extracted, in the same record as the pipeline stage and the forecast category.

The old way, and what changes

What is being compared here is not the quality of the transcript. It is where the transcript goes.

The jobStandalone call intelligenceConversation intelligence inside EmpireOS
Recording and transcript Excellent, in its own product. Recorded, transcribed and summarized on the deal, with talk ratio, objections raised and next steps extracted.
What the call changes Nothing, until a person copies the summary into the CRM. The deal's health factors, the MEDDICC slots, the buying committee and the next pre-call brief. No copying.
Coaching A manager reviews calls in the tool and keeps notes there. Every rep scored against every skill from their own recorded calls: discovery, objection handling, closing, pitch and multi-threading. Click a cell and you are in the calls the score came from.
The forecast call The manager asks "how did the call go?" and gets a summary of a summary. The deal score already reflects it, and Ask Empire answers "what did they object to?" from the transcript, in a sentence.
The next call The rep re-reads the last transcript, if there is time. The pre-call brief is written before the deal is opened, with the objections raised so far and how they were answered.
The bill Typical published list price for conversation intelligence alone is around $200 per user per month, on top of the CRM. Included in the one EmpireOS plan at $129 per user per month, alongside the CRM, forecasting and the AI agent.

Every rep against every skill, from their own calls

The team skill heat map scores each rep on discovery, objection handling, closing, pitch and multi-threading, from their own recorded calls, with a team average row. Click a cell and you are in that rep's coaching detail with the calls the score came from, so a coaching conversation can start with the recording rather than an opinion.

  • Scores come from recorded and transcribed calls, not from a manager's memory
  • Talk ratio, objections raised and next steps extracted per call
  • Conversations exportable for QA or a compliance review

The transcript is evidence, not a file

Half of what Deal Intelligence shows is read out of the calls: the health factors, the MEDDICC gaps nobody had to inspect for, who on the buying committee has gone quiet, and the brief for the next call. That only works because the recording and the deal are one record.

  • Deal health scored with the contributing factors printed
  • MEDDICC slots and stakeholders extracted from calls and threads
  • Pre-call brief on screen in under a second, the model version swapping in behind it

When a standalone tool is still the right answer

If conversation intelligence on its own is the only thing you need, and your CRM and forecast are settled and you are happy with them, a specialist is a reasonable choice. The argument for EmpireOS is that four specialists do not share what they learn, and you pay four bills for the privilege. If that is your situation, the rest of this site is for you; if it is not, we would rather say so on the first email than the third call.

Where an existing tool stays: EmpireOS connects to Zoom directly, and to Salesforce and HubSpot for the CRM record, so a team can run it alongside what it has for a quarter before deciding anything. Mail and calendar sync is written and is not yet something a customer can switch on.

Questions people ask about this

Does EmpireOS record and transcribe calls itself?

Yes. Calls are recorded, transcribed and summarized, with talk ratio, objections raised and next steps extracted, and a coaching view over the top. The transcript sits on the deal and feeds the deal score, the MEDDICC extraction and the pre-call brief.

Is conversation intelligence priced separately?

No. Recordings, transcripts, call review and coaching are part of Empire Command, in the one plan at $129 per user per month with every module and every AI feature included.

Can we keep our current call intelligence tool for now?

Yes. Teams generally run EmpireOS alongside what they have for a quarter before deciding whether to move fully. It connects to Zoom directly and reads from Salesforce and HubSpot. Gmail and Google Calendar sync is built and not yet switchable by a customer.

How is coaching scored?

Every rep is scored against every skill from their own recorded calls: discovery, objection handling, closing, pitch and multi-threading, with a team average row. Clicking a cell opens that rep's coaching detail with the calls the score came from.

About EmpireOS

EmpireOS is the revenue system that updates itself: your pipeline, your forecast and your follow-ups kept current from the conversations your team is already having. It is an AI revenue operating system for mid-market B2B sales teams: sales forecasting, conversation intelligence, an AI sales agent (Empire Agent), deal intelligence, win/loss patterns read from your own closed deals (Swarm Intelligence) and the record they all sit on, in one system instead of separate tools that bill separately and do not share what they learn. It works alongside the CRM you already have. $129 per user per month, every module and every AI feature included. A seven-day free trial with no card required. Nothing reaches a customer without a person approving it, and the approval is recorded.
